Gotta like a Site With This Name

Great Caesar's ghost who could possibly pass up a chance to check out a site like http://www.cheesebikini.com ? I decided to go today for a really spiffy site. It's current events. It's humor. It's swell.

Site of the Day

Please go to: http://www.etrafficsurfer.com/?ref=267 to help me increase my statistics. It's good for everybody to get involved with stuff like this. It's cold out today but at least it's not all that bad driving, etc. wise. The library's not too busy or crowded & they got the heater fixed a while ago. Christmas beckons. Yesterday was Tina's (Gary & Maria's daughter's) birthday so I made sure I sent her the inevitably obligatory Beatle card. I miss New York Christmas but it's nice here too. Pretty soon I reckon I'll get my two cards from my N.Y. connections. Now that Advent is here things will be crowded and aggravating.

Great Marian Feast Day

Friday, December 8, 2006: Today I made sure I went to 8 a.m. Mass At Immaculate Conception Church in West Pittston. It's the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It snowed yesterday and last night but the roads were all pretty clear. Today the library is extra quiet and I'm feeling quite a whole lot better than yesterday. Christmas beckons. My blogs' traffic stats are skyrocketing. Certain parties may find this pert near impossible to believe (ho hum, ahem)but I've gotten compliments from people.

It's Pearl Harbor Day

Thursday, December 7, 2006: The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor exactly 65 years ago today, bringing us into World War II, Archie Bunker's big one. I have a very bad migraine ever since around midnight. The weather is colder than I like it but average for early December. Last night I watched The Singing Nun about the Belgian nun who sang "Dominique" on the Ed Sullivan Show" in the 60s. It was a really big shoe (showing my age, am I?) The Dominicans were my teachers when I was a kid.

Theology & Pizza

Wednesday, December 6, 2oo6: Oh yes, believe it or not, there really is quite an especially interesting link between theology & pizza. On this day in 1960, Thomas Monaghan a world renowned figure in Catholic intellectual circles, founded Domino's Pizza.

Interesting Financial Services Blogs

Wednesday, December 6, 2oo6: Today I should like to recommend two very good financial services blogs I know of: http://www.thekirkreport.com & http://caltrader.blogspot.com I found out about them by way of one of my favorite sites.

Operation Just Say Merry Christmas

Wednesday, December 6, 2006: Alas, those weisenheimer liberals are up to their inevitable tricks again. I feel that this is an important enough problem to merit its inclusion in all my blogs. Please go to http://www.operationjustsaymerrychristmas.com to find out just exactly what's really going on.

Site of the Day

Wednesday, December 6, 2006: Here's my vote for site of the day: http://www.blogsoldiers.com/?rid=3271 Please go there and give me more credits. It's very cold out today and I was forced to spend all of 5 entire minutes scraping the ice off my car windows. Christmas fast approaches. I just hope it doesn't snow a lot. A woman I spoke to on one of my blogs yesterday got a good idea. She said it should snow only for Christmas and there should be nice weather the rest of the time.

Beatle History

Tuesday, December 5, 2006: On November 22, 1968, the Beatles released their eponymously titled White Album, The Beatles. On November 17, 1980, Beatle John Lennon released what would be the last album of his to be released during his lifetime, Double Fantasy. About this time both those years, we Beatlemaniacs were sky high. Lennon was assassinated on December 8, 1980.

Another Very Interesting Blog

Tuesday, December 5, 2oo6: Today I highlight a Nicaraguan (en espanol, lo siento si no comprenden) blog. http://nicaraguademisrecuerdos.blogspot.com It's by a lady I met through one of the sites I like to frequent. It's a very interesting romp through Central America.

Very Cold Day

Monday, December 4, 2006: I spent most of Saturday with my relatives in West Wyoming. For the past two days it's been very cold and windy which is entirely appropriate for the season. On Saturday I got my very first Christmas card, from the Carmelite sisters in Wilkes Barre. I'll probably get two more from New York. Here's a free hug, courtesy of Mark, Laura & their young uns: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vL7Jo_1Z3Y8 Site of the day: http://www.geckotraffic.com/join.php?sponsor_id=285
