TOO COLD TOO LONG

By now I just plain can't stand it anymore. I just heard that we can expect between four & six inches of snow! Mornings are worse than afternoons around here. KrissyKrissyKrissy is finally back. The Divine Mercy Mass at the Oblates Seminary is at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow. One of these days I have got to take another trip to Stockbridge, though I dread the kind of traffic they must have on Divine Mercy Sunday. I messed up because it just occurred to me last night as soon as I went to bed that the Carmelite meeting isn't until next Saturday. I just found out from a Yoko Ono blog that Julian Lennon, this month's birthday boy, has sold his share of stock in the Beatles' songs. Like most Beatlemaniacs, I've never liked Yoko but hey, her sites are a major source of Beatlegossip. In case you could possibly have not noticed by now, I am he who is a master of the obsolete, irrelevant & anachronistic.

HAPPY EASTER FRIDAY 13th.

Be extremely seriously careful doing the Friday dance this week. Everybody knows how unlucky Friday 13th is. The weather just gets worse & worse by the second these days. I don't suppose I should have to bother by now with telling you how frustrating it is. I'm at computer six today, an unusual stroke of stuff for me. The Divine Mercy novena has been going on every night at St. Anthony's this week at 6:45 p.m. KrissyKrissyKrissy hasn't gotten back from N.Y. just yet. I've always been quite the trivia junkie. I don't watch TV all that much but I really like "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" & "Jeopardy". Other than that & the old movie channel, it's all a total waste of time. I don't even know if the "...Millionaire" is still on or just in reruns these days. Other than those two & very few other shows,it's all the unjust, unwinnable war, the election with nobody worth bothering to vote for, the dead blonde bimbo & the old blabbermouth dj.

WILL IT EVER END OR WHAT?

The weather was quite groovy late yesterday. Temperatures were around sixty degrees late in the day. Today, though, I woke up to an icy cold rainstorm. I've been reading Flannery O'Connor's Wise Blood again. It's short but good. I should recommend it to a website I know that specializes in very short novels. KrissyKrissyKrissy should be back tomorrow. Imus is still in all sorts of trouble & if I live to be a brazilian years old, I'll never understand why. Every day people take all sorts of potshots at whites, Christians & men. He happened to have made the mistake of messing with non_white women. Of course what he did was most certainly entirely wrong. It's only because he happened to have offended a bunch of minorities & women that people admit it was wrong. Just suspend the guy for a while & let it go. Elton John degraded Christians a little while ago & not a thing was done about it. These days we live in a culture that plays favorites. I just sent an e mail to a local organization that works with the blind. I asked them if I could get a volunteer job over there. By doing that, I hope to have a chance to get a job job with them.

COAL MINER'S STAMP

Around here, coal mining always has been quite a significant part of our local history, so now there's a petition going around to get the post office to design a stamp in the miners' honor. I see the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees are going through some kind of a fight over whether they should be sold. The local team that used to be here, the Red Barons, was a part of the Phillies & moved over to the Philadelphia area. I don't even like sports anyway but hey, it's local news so I just thought I'd mention it. My Yankee fan cousins must be keeping track of stuff like this. I wear my Mets coat, shirt & socks only because I grew up around Shea Stadium so I'm an honorary fan of theirs. I just wish all the cold weather would go away. It's nightmarishly boring even though there's no substantial snow anymore. Of course, even the weather can't possibly get anymore boring than having to hear constantly about Imus & Anna Nicole Smith.

BEATLE ERA ERROR

This morning I read in a newspaper comic that today was the thirty fifth anniversary of the break up of the Beatles. Tomorrow will really be their thirty seventh anniversary. Today's weather's quite nice but it's insanely colder than I like it. We're really getting rooked blind out of spring. Uncle Frankie showed up again yesterday & KrissyKrissyKrissy is back in the New York groove. The library's computers have been flipping out on us lately & today they were down for an hour so they could get fixed. So far they've been working well. Don Imus is in big trouble for mouthing off about the blacks. Lately, every couple of months some famous personality looks at some minority crooked & gets into all sorts of trouble. It's as if it's some kind of a set up or something. I've never been able to stand the pop cultural scene for the past very many years, even decades, anyway. I see Michell, who's married to Gino, has sent out another e mail. Under their old address, I never got anything from them. Now at least she sends stuff.

EASTER MONDAY

I'll say one thing for the day after Easter: The peace & quiet is everywhere except in the library. It's quiet here but very crowded. Everybody's gone home & KrissyKrissyKrissy's come back. I wonder if she has my dvd's ready. I have lots of them with scratches. I have to lose weight now that the feeding frenzy is finally over with. Everytime I go to the doctor he claims I'm supposedely lighter than ever. I have quite a spare tire though. Steve & I took Michael & Sam to a sporting goods store a couple of days ago. I don't like sports so I never get to go anyplace like that. Michael even showed me a picture of his girlfriend Liz yesterday. I'm quite infuriated that it snowed yesterday. Nothing bugs me like a white Easter. I see Jo Anne's up to her old tricks again. She sent me an e mail that I really like but that the liberals on my list will never be able to handle.

HAPPY EASTER

The Easter Bunny has been sighted at all sorts of locations today. I don't know how he does it. Many of the kinfolk are here, including Uncle Frankie, Fran, Lisa, Mary Anne, Steve & the young uns. KrissyKrissyKrissy will be back from New York tomorrow. I finally got a chance to go to my very first ever Latin Easter Mass. Last night Michael & I went to the Vigil at O.L.Sorrows. It took two hours. He insisted on leaving at the last minute so we got cheated out of candles. Surprisingly enough, though, the parking wasn't bad, especially compared to O.L.P.H. Today he checked out his myspace account on my computer. I ate entirely too much including some relatively obscure foods. Great Caesar's ghost it's snowing pretty heavily & I'm quite sick and freaking tired of it. It's spring & we're entitled to an end to all this garbage.
