Car Appointment On Monday

Yesterday, I didn't have my insurance & registration so my father & I were forced to go to the Midway_he was missing his registration too. My insurance was in the glove compartment. The woman in the place we went to was a real grouch but she claimed to have been giving us a quite seriously huge discount so it worked out. Today's my absolute deadline for the sticker so I feel like a totally_so defiant_ rebel riding around without having already gotten it over with. Other than that I haven't been quite so out of control lately. It's still very cold but at least there's no bad snow. I've been noticing that the mornings are getting a little lighter lately. That's a major improvement by my standards since around here winter mornings so far have been all gloom, doom & ice. Gas prices are going down too so that's even more to hoot & holler about. I can't see why they're so low, though, because the politicians, as far as I've noticed, don't seem to be running for anything lately.

It's Plum Freezing

There's no chance of a big trip all the way to New York in this weather because it's entirely too just plain cold. I should have like to go for my mother's birthday. Today's Joe & Rose's birthday. The temperature is bitter with a wind chill factor of around -6 degrees. Fortunately, though, there's no snow or ice worth mentioning. I forgot to track down my registration & insurance card for inspection today so my appointment is on Monday at 8 a.m. Happy birthday to everyone who qualifies this month. KrissyKrissyKrissy is busy doing all sorts of house stuff with Ed & family. My blogs are getting all sorts of oddball exposure & I even found out that one of my http://www.wheresgeorge.com connections works at the Wyoming Ave. convenience store. Today's Friday so we all have to do the Friday dance, of course. Lately, I've been reading all sorts of Catholic, other Christian & conservative blogs. It's nice to know that not everyone on the planet is necessarily the least bit pleased with the way things are going these days. I'll be commenting about things like this every once in a while.

Let It Snow

This morning I arose to the sound of the guy next door shoveling snow at around 6:30_ish. The temperature, according to the radio, should be as low as 13 degrees today. Unfortunately, Catholic schools are suffering & closing around here like crazy in the Diocese of Scranton. I went to Catholic school in the Dioceses of Brooklyn & Rockville Centre, so I know they're an especially groovy environment. Nobody ever wants to give these schools any sort of help by way of vouchers or tax breaks for parents but everybody would benefit if something could be done to keep kids in Catholic schools. Liberals, though, want total secularization of each & every single aspect of life in the entire country & aren't about to give in. They want their politically correct dictatorship of relativism to reign supreme in each and every single area of people's lives. Hey, cousin Michelle & her son Benjamin showed up today to say howdy when they were taking the other young_uns to school.

W's State of the Union & Even More About Ford

A guy in the Citizen's Voice today wrote a letter pointing out something I've always wondered about: Why was it all that good for Ford to have pardoned Nixon? Didn't it give the impression that individuals in positions of extreme power & authority must not be held accountable for their actions? Has the country really been in better shape because of this attitude? W., of course, is the perfect example of precisely this very approach to government, a direct political descendant of Tricky Dick. In last night's State of the Union address, he promised to get us stuck in Iraq for a long time, not to get out. Of course, Iraq, is different from Viet Nam in the sense that the Viet Cong never set out to rule the World. The moslems, though, are looking for absolute world domination. I read in the American Legion's magazine that we can all thank that other super_genius, Jimmy(Billy's big brother)Carter for having forcibly ousted the Shah from Iran in the late '70's & welcomed in the monster Ayatollah who referred to the U.S. as the Great Satan. Since then, islam in the Middle East has gotten the upper hand over us all.

Very Old Classic Movie

Last night I saw Humoresque, with John Garfield, Joan Crawford & Oscar Levant. It's the latest addition to my list of classic movies. It's snowing out this morning, a continuation from yesterday. I've finally finished Mansfield Park & started Walker Percy's Thanatos Syndrome again. Today started out with only a very mild headache but now it's gone. Great Caesar's Ghost! I finally got an e mail from California Cathleen. Happy birthday to all this month's birthday people. TV channels are all abuzz these days with Roe v. Wade & politicians gearing up for the 2008 presidential election. I know so far that Barack Obama & Hilary Clinton are all the rage. I shall have to go to that website I mentioned a while ago & check out their track records. Hey, congratulations are in order to my cousin Mark & his ten year old son, Nicolas, who got their names mentioned in an article in Newsday.

Icy Cold Lately

Our typical Pa. winter progresses. I dread going to places like Plains' W. Carey Ave, Main Street & Wilkes_Barre's South Street on icy days because they're entirely too steep for my tastes. KrissyKrissyKrissy, who worked in Bethpage & knew several of the people I knew over there, is going home to N.Y. tonight after work & made sure she promised to say hello to all my old pals. Today is the 34th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the day that absolutely defines the liberals' true colors. I swear I got a mild case of the virus that's been gripping this neck of the woods lately. I got the headache to end headaches a couple of nights ago. Everybody's still altogether ga.ga over the Ronald's coin. Some of my cousins & I have always been very close. They all have their share of obsessions & compulsions but at least the coin thingy seems to be doing quite nicely. The Super Bowl very soon approaches. As everyone knows, I don't like sports but show up at the parties because I get to pig out. Today I ate scrambled eggs again.
